Continuing a new tradition, Michelle Grabner (Spring 2017 Residency Guest Curator) has selected three artists from the Texas Open Call list to showcase their works for the Spring 2017 Hudson Showroom exhibition Did You Ever See Such A Thing As A Drawing Of A Muchness? Artists include Natasha Bowdoin, Harold Mendez, and Rodrigo Valenzuela. According to Grabner, “This is an exhibition unified by the inquiry into social meaning and artistic purpose in combination with the “material turn” in contemporary art. All three artists deploy muchness and compression as a means to achieve unambiguous absorption.” This exhibition will be on view from January 26 to April 30, 2017.

In 2017, Artpace renamed the gallery space formerly known as Window Works. The space, now called Main Space for its prime location in downtown San Antonio and proximity to the soon-to-be-renovated Main Ave, will showcase local artists front and center to elevate their position in San Antonio. The inaugural Main Space exhibition will feature local San Antonio artist, Benjamin McVey. McVey will relocate his painting studio to Main Space for his exhibition, Open, which will be on display from January 26 to April 30, 2017.

Admission to Artpace is free and open to the public, with complimentary drinks and appetizers on the Artpace Rooftop. Doors open at 6pm.
