2012 Chalk It Up Call for Artists DEADLINE
Artpace is currently seeking artists in Bexar County to participate in our 9th Annual Chalk It Up event on Saturday, October 13, 2012.

Chalk It Up is a free, family-friendly arts festival that takes place annually on the second Saturday of October. Artpace invites premier area artists to transform downtown San Antonio sidewalks into colorful works of art. This community event is an opportunity for locals and tourists alike to appreciate your artwork, explore contemporary art, and participate in our city's creative resources. Chalk It Up drew more than 18,500 San Antonians to downtown Houston Street last year, and we look forward to an even larger crowd this October.

If you are interested in participating in Chalk It Up, email Artpace Assistant Curator of Education Lindsey Smith at lsmith@artpace.org by Wednesday, August 1. Include three digital images that best demonstrate your work, as well as a brief statement describing your practice.

Artpace After Hours
Artpace After Hours takes adult audiences behind the scenes for casual art encounters and meaningful conversation. Come get acquainted with Artpace and our newest exhibitions. Bring a friend. BYOB (Build Your Own Beverage) Workshop
Mix and mingle with one of our favorite downtown Artpace Alliance members, Ocho, at the final installment of our summertime FRESH ART FIRST Members Rooftop Party series. At our BYOB (Build Your Own Beverage) Workshop, expert mixologists from Hotel Havana's chic River Walk bar will share mixers made from scratch and reinvented old-school recipes to help you craft your own refreshing cocktails. But wait... that's not all! We've invited DJs JJ Lopez and Leonard Trujillo so you can dance the night away.

2014 International Artist-in-Residence Open Call for Texas Artists DEADLINE
Beginning June 27, Texas artists are invited to submit material for our International Artist-in-Residence Open Call. Applicants will be considered for our statewide shortlist, which guest curators in 2014 will use as a tool to select Texas residents. The online application is available on our home page. The Open Call closes at 5pm on August 28.
