TRAVEL GRANT OPPORTUNITY FOR SAN ANTONIO-AREA

In an effort to encourage an on-going dialogue between local artists and an
international arts community, as well as foster growth and vision of an artist's career,
ArtPace is pleased to announce a call for Travel Grant applications. There may be more
than one grant recipient per year; however, the total amount dispersed will not exceed
$2,500. The award, supported by the Fund for San Antonio Artists @ ArtPace, will assist
an artist with travel related to his or her artistic research and growth. This includes, but is
not limited to: participation in out-of-town exhibitions, viewing a particular show or
collection, conducting research for a specific project, or to support other residency
opportunities.

Applicants should include the following in the proposal:

?roposed destination

?roposed dates of travel (between May 2004 and May 2005)

? brief description of the purpose of the travel

?n estimated budget of expenses, including the total amount requested

?ther sources of travel income, either anticipated or confirmed

?eferences (2), include all contact information

?n updated exhibition history or biography

Optional information:

?ppropriate support material (photos, slides, brochures, videos)

?n artist's statement

ArtPace maintains a Texas artist registry, which is visited regularly by guest curators,
arts professionals, and others. All materials submitted will be retained for the registry
unless otherwise specified. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you
would like the materials returned to you.

Applications should be postmarked or delivered by 5 PM, Monday, April 26, 2004.
Recipient(s) will be selected by ArtPace staff and notified by May 10, 2004.
