WHAT

Artpace’s free public lecture series, ArtTalks, returns with Connie Butler’s WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution on November 30, 2006. In conjunction with her current curatorial project WACK!, an upcoming exhibition at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art that will feature some 100 artists examining the international foundations and legacy of feminist art between 1965-1980, Connie Butler will reflect upon issues of media, geography, collective aesthetic, and political impulses. Butler’s lecture coincides with the exhibition of four female-created projects at Artpace.

WHO

Connie Butler is the Robert Lehman Foundation Chief Curator of Drawings at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY. Her upcoming curatorial project, WACK!, is scheduled to open at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA in 2007.
