Feats of Art-Moving Magic

Feats of Art-Moving Magic

Ever wonder how we get huge pieces of art into our galleries? Vincent Valdez‘s (Summer 2014 Hudson (Show)Room) exhibition, The Strangest Fruit, is made of up of larger-than-life portraits, including one huge painting measuring 8 feet by 11.5 feet. Since the piece was too large to make its way into the upstairs gallery via stairs or elevator, Vincent, Artpace staff, and several passers-by gathered to watch the studio staff hoist the painting up the side of the building and in through an upstairs door. Check out this feat of art-moving magic, and be sure to join us for the opening of Vincent’s exhibition, along with work by local artist Cathy Cunningham-Little, tomorrow, May 8th, from 6-9pm!
