What is the Venice Biennale? It is a major contemporary art exhibition that takes place every two years in Venice, Italy. While the Biennale is half a world away, many of the artists invited to participate have San Antonio roots through Artpace’s International Artist-in-Residence and Hudson(Show)Room programs .
Last week, curator Okwui Enwezor announced the 136 artists and collectives included in the “All the World’s Futures,” the Biennale’s main exhibition (see The 2015 Venice Biennale List of Artists Is Out).
In this list alone, 10% of the artists named have shown work at Artpace in our International Artist-in-Residence galleries or the Hudson(Show)Room.
