Artpace Teen Council

Work Collaboratively with teens in San Antonio

Get involved / work with artists and administrators to become an advocate for contemporary art.

The Artpace Teen Council is a nine-month, paid program designed for San Antonio area high school students to become advocates for contemporary art and young leaders in their community. Teen Council members work with artists and administrators to develop teen programs, support Artpace events, and create community-based projects throughout the school year.

A student is eligible if they:

  • Are an area high school student (15-18 years old) living in Bexar County
  • Have their own transportation (a ride, a bus, a bike) to Artpace
  • Can meet every Thursday from 5PM – 7PM at Artpace (not on school holidays)
  • Are open-minded, creative, responsible, and enjoy working collaboratively
  • Can commit to the Artpace Teen Council for one school year (September – May)

University Internships

Mentorship with Artpace staff

Gain first-hand experience in arts development and mentorship for course credit with Artpace staff across departments.

Interns apply their creativity, critical thinking skills and enthusiasm to a wide range of projects under the mentorship of Artpace Professionals. Artpace strives to offer interns an experience that nurtures a passion for careers in the arts as well as inspiration to incorporate creativity into any career path they choose.

Look, learn, create, and reflect with innovative activities and lesson plans for at home and in the classroom that connect Artpace artists and exhibitions through discovery and cross-cultural concepts.

Artpace offers support and inspiration with innovative activities and lesson plans for use at home or in the classroom. The design of every exercise was influenced by the creative practice of an Artpace artist.
