Borderland Collective: One to Another

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Artpace

Please join us for the opening reception of Borderland Collective: One to Another, on Thursday, September 6th from 6-8pm led by artists Mark Menjivar, Molly Sherman, and Jason Reed. One to Another activates Artpace’s Hudson Showroom and Main Space galleries, turning them into spaces of listening, critical inquiry, and participation.

The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate their own familial migration stories within the context of larger migration narratives. Stories gathered from around the country will serve as a starting point, but the exhibition also utilizes forensic archives, video and sound installations, a refugee housing unit, and United Nations hearings to engender a critically conscious reading of how narratives are constructed within layered contexts of media, politics, and individual lives.

Borderland Collective is a long-term art and education project that utilizes collaborations between artists, educators, youth, and community members to engage complex issues and build space for diverse perspectives, meaningful dialogue, and modes of creation and reflection.

Enjoy complimentary beer from our new local beverage sponsor, Künstler Brewing.
