Join Marta Francine at Artpace on July 14th for a fun fiber workshop, where you will learn the art of macramé and construct your very own plant hanger!
Although this class is guaranteed fun, Marta’s goal is to teach you more than just making a home décor item. This introductory 3hr, hands-on workshop will cover the history and basics of macramé knotting, rope types, and uses. The knowledge you will gain through this workshop will also enable you to create your own pieces in the future, adding personal creative touch and exploring well beyond plant hanger patterns. At the end of the workshop, a list of the best online rope suppliers will be provided, and we will cover the basics on house plants and plant care! This workshop is designed to guide you step by step through this fiber art form; no experience is required. Additional “community table” materials will be provided to personalize your piece, such as beads, color rope, and color yarn.
The finished plant hanger will measure 35- 40 inches and will fit a pot 6-10 inches wide.

Fun Fact! This class will also feature a mini mobile plant shop, where participants will have the opportunity to purchase a plant to take home to repot into the terracotta pot which is included with the ticket price. Plants vary in species and price.
