Join us for the final performance by Artpace’s inaugural Performing Artist Resident, Amalia Ortiz. This program supports local and regional performing artists by providing performance space and resources to experiment with new concepts and create new work. Ortiz’s residency will culminate with a performance of this new work.

About the Performance
Focused on themes of revolution and inspired by current issues of social injustice, The Canción Cannibal Cabaret is a hybrid poetry and performance text soon to be published as Amalia’s second book by Wings Press. As a text, it is a collection of post-apocalyptic prose poems and poem songs “cannibalizing” knowledge from before the fall of civilization. In performance, The Canción Cannibal Cabaret is a punk rock musical—part concept album, part live theatre.

**Those in attendance will receive a bookmark with a link to free tracks from the album.**
