My name is Frances Baca, your friendly east side neighborhood barista, BFA student, and cat parent.
What was your best coffee design?
I can fit a fair few stacks into a tulip, but I tell you what – latte art is not a quick or easy skill to obtain and I have a long way to go.
What do you like most about San Antonio & the San Antonio art scene?
I’m very lucky to have been a part of programs such as SAY Sí, Southwest School of Art, and hey, I’ve even interned at artpace in the summer of 2018. It’s a very warm and welcoming community to be a part of.
What’s your favorite type of coffee?
I’m a sucker for Kenyan coffee for their bright, citrusy flavor profiles. More often than not though, I’m found drinking a cortado (with oatmilk!).
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve mixed into a coffee?
haven’t done anything too wild with coffee additives. I did get curious and steam coldbrew once after a customer asked me if I could “make the coldbrew hot”
What’s your best or earliest coffee memory?
My earliest coffee memory is my dad letting me steal sips from his Folgers drip he was so loyal to.
