Summer High Note

Summer High Note

On Friday July 18, Artpace was packed with jazz enthusiasts for the second installment of the Jazz on the Rooftop Concert Series featuring The Hardbop Project: A Tribute to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. Although the concert was almost called off due to inclement weather, the breeze that continued throughout the night brought a refreshing cool to the rooftop, which hit capacity within minutes of opening to the public. As the trumpet blared, concert-goers danced and moved along to the smooth music, while eating delicious treats from Joseph’s Bakery and heartier fare provided by Tailgate Bistro, and drinking cocktails and refreshment provided by Cinco Vodka and Blue Moon/Crispin. The over 400 attendees that perused the galleries and enjoyed music on the rooftop made the concert the largest in Artpace history. If you missed this unique San Antonio event hosted in part by KRTU, the San Antonio Current, and Maverick Music Festival, be sure to come to final concert on November 21 featuring Dupree.
