On Thursday, August 7, Artpace hosted the recognition ceremony of the 2014 Bexar County Arts Internship grant awardees. Ten organizations attended the luncheon, which was followed by the grant recipients speaking about their experience with their respective institution. Artpace intern Ali, gave a presentation on her work at Artpace, which included Chalk It Up preparation, writing education curriculum, and being a camp counselor at Camp Artpace. After the interns finished summarizing their two months of work, County Judge Nelson W. Wolff spoke about the importance of the arts in schools, as well as the future development of the arts in San Antonio. Through the Bexar County Arts Internship, theArts Fund in San Antonio was able to provide paid intern positions for Artpace, Ballet San Antonio, Cactus Pear Music Festival, Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, Classic Theatre of San Antonio, Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, The Magik Theatre, San Anto Cultural Arts Center, the Playhouse, and YOSA.
